Bheed

Bheed is a 2023 Indian Hindi-language social drama film written, directed and produced by Anubhav Sinha. Bheed is a fictitious account of the largest migration in Indian history (since the 1947 partition) during the quarantine in 2020. It tells the story of how several characters of diverse ages, religions, caste, economic, and social status deal with the lockdown and migrate to a safe place.

As the Chief Asst. Production Designer, I was responsible for a wide range of tasks. During early stages of pre-production, I accompanied the production designer, Nikhil Kovale, on location scouts, made preliminary drawings, created art and research presentations and was given the opportunity to lead some of these presentations made to the director, DP and producers. Leading up to the shoot, I made construction drawings, supervised creation of graphics, sourced some props and assisted the art director in supervision of set construction and decoration.

Finally, during the run of the shoot, I was the delegated art point person on set, overseeing the work of the set dressers, tracking action props, engaging in discussions with the director and DP to ensure their vision was being met, and keeping an eye out for art continuity.

Below are stills from the film, drawings and 3D models made for set and a few graphics I created for the project.
