Death Shadow

Over the past year, I developed a short film, Shi no kage or Death Shadow, that aimed at generating awareness for the long-lasting repercussions of nuclear radiation.

For the film, I extensively researched Japan's culture of using kaiju or monster film to deal with sensitive issues of national importance. After filming on location close to the 2011 nuclear disaster site in Fukushima, Japan, I used CGI tools on the footage to create some digital set extensions and convert the live-action scenes into a setting for a short monster film.
